In this 6-week course tailored for lawyers, you will learn how to develop and sustain a mindfulness practice. You will also learn about the benefits that mindfulness can bring to your working life as a lawyer.

Mindfulness for Lawyers

 

Capacity: Group of 10-12 from a law firm or chambers

Location: 60 mins live via Zoom weekly plus course reading materials, practical hints, tips and audio-guided meditations.

Duration: 6 x 60 minute sessions

Experience: No previous mindfulness experience required.

Course Cost: On application.

Weekly Zoom 1-hour sessions delivered by course tutor Gillian Higgins (barrister and mindfulness teacher) are supported by reading notes, hints, tips and guided meditations.

This course will cover the following themes related to your work in the legal profession:

Week 1: What is mindfulness? What are the benefits and how do I practise?

Week 2: How can mindfulness help to reduce the impact of worry and anxiety? Can it help to settle a busy mind?

Week 3: Managing stress and increasing the ability to focus and pay attention.

Week 4: Taming and befriending the inner critical voice.

Week 5: Fostering self-compassion.

Week 6: Boosting resilience and breaking bad habits.

Led by Gillian Higgins, international criminal barrister at The Chambers of 9 Bedford Row, civil and commercial mediator and meditation teacher.
